Patients are not the only users who can benefit from the patient portal.  Providers can utilize the various tools available to them to better serve their patients while keeping themselves informed of their progress.  Whether you're a single doctor or a provider group, a visiting nurse, a wellness coordinator, or the like, you can use the powerful data collection, reporting, and communication tools contained within the patient portal. 

Features:

• Patient Snapshot - you will be able to access patient information based on the settings that they have allowed you access to.  This may include anything from vitals to lab tests to vaccinations and medications.  This option will provide you with a profile of the given patient at that point in time.

• Survey Administration and Reporting - you will have the ability to create and administer surveys that patients can fill out about their health and general wellness.  As surveys are completed, you will also be able to view their aggregated results, showing the number and percentage of responses for each possible answer.

• Patient Communication - you will also be able to communicate back and forth with your patients using an easy to use messaging system.

Reliability:

Patient data can be manually entered by a patient, as well as imported electronically from an EMR or HIE type of application.  As more patient information is stored within the patient portal, it increases reliability and validity, giving you a better picture of a patient's overall health.  This will help you to spot trends in order to perform interventions when needed.  It also allows you to provide encouragement to patients for a job well done. 

Security:

Because of data sensitivity, you will only be able to view, report, and communicate with patients who have selected you as their provider.  This helps to ensure security - where patient information is only made available to those individuals that patients have deemed appropriate.
