As the healthcare industry shifts its focus to Electronic Medical Records, many forward thinking practices are asking software vendors about “Patient Portals.” There are two variations to the patient portal models – the provider centric model and the patient centric version. “Provider Centric” Patient Portals typically provide communication services between patients and providers where providers grant patients access (with a secure username and password) to information within the medical office through a web connection.
